THINGS I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE GETT:

What is GETT?
Girls Exploring Tomorrow’s Technology (GETT) is an annual event for girls in grades 5-10, along with their parents and educators, to learn more about career opportunities in a broad scope of STEM related industries. The day is filled with exciting and enlightening experiences including hands-on activities lead by successful women in STEM fields. For more information on the background of the program please visit our About Page.

When does registration open?
Stay Tuned! Registration opens September 6, 2023.

What are the ticket types?
There are two ticket types available for the event, “Student” and “Adult”. You will be asked to select a designated arrival time for each ticket. Your tickets will only be honored for entrance to GETT at the arrival time that you have selected. We thank you in advance for your cooperation in respecting the arrival time that you have selected.

Should I print my ticket?
Avoid getting stuck in line! Your printed ticket will allow you a fast pass entrance and you/the participant will get to enjoy the expo sooner.

Do I have to register ahead of time?
Yes, pre-registration is required for admittance. Tickets will not be available at the door on the morning of the event. Pre-registration is required in order to ensure that we do not exceed building capacity in efforts to create the most safe, comfortable and successful experience for everyone in attendance. Remember, you will only be admitted to GETT at the time designated on your ticket (as per your selection in your registration).

Is there any cost to attend the event?
Due to the generous donations and support from our sponsors, we are able offer GETT as a free event to all students. Adults will be charged a fee of $10 to attend, to help us offset event costs and keep this event free for the girls!

Is there a waitlist if the event fills up?
Yes. When registration is full, you will be prompted to add your name to the waitlist. If tickets become available, you will be notified via email with further instructions as to how to claim your tickets.

Where/when is GETT 2023?
GETT 2023 is taking place at the The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, PA.

Greater Philly Expo Center

Who should attend?
Girls in grades 5-10 are invited to attend. Parents and educators are also encouraged to attend with their girls to learn more about the Expo Companies, STEM careers and fantastic STEM based programs and experiences available to your girls.

Who should not attend?
All GETT attendees must be pre-registered and ticketed for a designated timed entrance. Since the goal of this event is to get girls interested in STEM careers, we ask that families refrain from bringing siblings younger/older than grades 5-10.

Do I need to bring my ticket?
Upon registering online, an electronic copy of your timed ticket will be sent to your email. Please either print and bring the ticket with you, or be prepared to show the ticket on your mobile phone at the registration table the day of GETT at your designated entrance time. Presenting your ticket when you arrive will expedite the check-in process.

Can parents drop off their daughter(s) or do they have to stay as well?

However, as the waiver on the event registration states: Participation in the Girls Exploring Tomorrow’s Technology (GETT) Event is at your own risk.
